Fra il 15 ed il 18 gennaio 1957, Elvis registrò “One night of sin”, la prima versione di questa canzone, negli studi Paramount Scoring Stage di Hollywood ma, a causa del testo un poco spinto per l’epoca non venne pubblicata fino al 1983, all’interno dell’album “Elvis-A legendary performer, volume 4”. Il numero di master di “One night of sin” è NPA5-5820.
Un nastro della RCA, però, riporta che questa canzone, assieme a “Teddy bear”, sarebbe stata registrata il 24 febbraio.
Joe Tunzi, nel libro “Elvis sessions III”, afferma che “One night of sin” sarebbe stata incisa il 18 febbraio.

STORIA DELLA CANZONE:
“One night” venne incisa per la prima volta da Smiley Lewis nel novembre del 1955 col titolo di “One night of sin”, ma il suo disco non riuscì ad entrare in classifica dopo la sua pubblicazione agli inizi del 1956.
Le covers più famose a questa canzone sono quella che nel 1963 Fats Domino dette di “One night of sin” e quella di “One night” del 1976 di Roy Head.

Magnifica,straordinaria interpretazione da parte di Elvis,la passione e la forza che si sprigionano dalla sua voce sono impressionanti anche 50 anni dopo la realizzazione di questa canzone.Da ascoltare e riascoltare sempre,serve a ricordarci,una volta di più,perchè Elvis fu così grande!

Concordo. Ed aggiungo che Elvis offrì, in ogni sua occasione dal vivo, sempre eccellenti versioni: segno che anche lui amava questo capolavoro venato di blues.
